Camille Dalmais Le Fil

Le fil is an album that will give a lot of comfort to those who need to be reminded that being a weirdo is okay, and will bring enjoyment to anyone who cares about weird music. Everyone needs a bit of cheering up, and what better way to do that than by listening to some sweet vocals and French beatboxing? With its reissue including four excellent, essential bonus tracks, there is no reason why Le fil should not be considered for entry into the same canon as Fetch the Bolt Cutters or Bjork’s Medúlla, except for its quirky rhythm that refuses to be mired in sorrow. Being a weird woman is a thankless job much of the time. Showing a little joy goes a long way, and with Le fil, Camille went the distance.
